The inner minute ring aids in reading the correct time, The center time disk is seperate and allows easy removal once after the clock is hung for time setting and battery replacement with out removing the total clock fromthe wallThis clock ships in a compact carton and assembles easily to allow for UPS or Fed EX shipping. The hi tourque accurate quartz movement uses 1 C battery (not included) .
